We
are active at Speech Therapy Service of Department of Neurology
of ASL3 Genovese.
The healthcare professionals working with adult patients (in and
outpatients) are neurologists, nurses and speech therapists.

Main
activities:
· Diagnosis and treatment of persons with aphasia
following stroke, with a special care to functional evaluation
of residual cognitive skills.
· Diagnostic intervention and rehabilitation on brain
injuries patients, particularly related to communication
disorders.
· Neuropsychological assessments for cognitive changes
during dementia, depression and ageing intellectual decline.
Above mentioned activities are performed by means of
advanced instruments and procedures, such as:
· Diagnostical-therapeutic protocols
· Results validation instruments
· Links with local medical services network and with
volunteer associations. In this sense the Lab is a reference
point in Liguria for ALIAS.
Research guidelines. Clinical research activity is based
on:
· Research programs for communication aids to improve
quality of life and efficacy of residual communication skills
in aphasic persons
· Experimental studies for identification of predictive
variables in rehabilitation outcome for patients with cognitive
disabilities |
